Chandra Namaskar Moon Salutation Mantra Benefits

Chandra Namaskar Moon Salutation Mantra Benefits

The word chandra means ‘moon’. The sequence of asanas is the same as Surya Namaskar except that Ardha Chandrasana, the half moon pose is performed after Ashwa Sanchalanasana. Whereas the twelve positions of  Suya Namaskar relate to the 12 zodiac or solar phases of the year, the fourteen positions of Chandra Namaskar relate to the fourteen lunar phases.

Best time to do Chandra Namaskar:
Chandra Namaskar is best practiced at evening/night, especially when the moon is visible. While practicing at night, ensure that the stomach is empty. When you can, practice Chandra Namaskar in the evening. Surya Namaskar is traditionally practiced at sunrise as a way to pay homage to the sun and to warm up the body for the coming day. It makes sense, then, to practice Chandra Namaskar in the evening when the moon is out. Not only is it a great way to prepare yourself for sleep.

sunrise and sunset have always been considered powerful times for practicing hatha yoga. "During these times, there's a balance between light and dark. It's not day. It's not night. You're at a junction between the two. This reflects internally in your body: Your hot and cold energies are also in balance. It's a natural time to do the practice. In addition to the time of day, you might also consider the time of the month that you practice. Rea suggests choosing a few days during the new moon, the full moon, and the waning moon (the 14 days after a full moon), since our energy is lower during those times. For women with a menstrual cycle, Chandra Namaskar can be a balm for low-energy days.

Most important, move slowly. This means that you don't have to sync each movement to an inhalation or an exhalation the way you do with Sun Salutations. Savor the practice, just as you would a carefully prepared meal, and allow it to bring you into a more present state. "You're not participating in the whole 'quick fix' when you do this practice.

Benefits of Moon Salutation (Chandra Namaskar):
Chandra Namaskar helps you in channelizing the lunar energy; which has cool, relaxing, and creative qualities. Chandra Namaskar also stretches the spine, hamstrings, and backs of legs; strengthens leg, arm, back, and stomach muscles. Like all other yoga practices, it is important that you learn Chandra Namaskar under proper supervision and guidance.

14. Exhale – PRANAMASANA
Bring the palms together in front of the chest center. (Same as step 1)

Repeat the cycle reversing the legs in Steps 4,5,10 and 11 (Ashwa Sanchalanasana and Ardha Chandrasana), to stretch the other side. Rest all the Postures will be the same.

Moonlight Meditation:
This meditation, adapted from the Bihar School of Yoga, can be done before or after you take the final resting pose, Savasana (Corpse Pose).

Sit in a comfortable cross-legged position. Slowly become aware of the space between your eyebrows. Within this space, visualize a full moon in a clear night sky, shining brightly on the waves of the ocean. The full reflection of the moon penetrates the deep waters, and the cool shade of moonlight catches the tops of the waves as they dance.

See the image clearly and develop an awareness of the feelings and sensations that are created in your mind and body. Slowly let the visualization fade and again become aware of the whole body.

Making juices, smoothies, and nutritional drinks is one of the tastier ways to stay healthy. But no matter what juice you like, you can always add other super foods such as given below.

These Superfoods are sure-shot cures for all kinds of fevers out there.

Not many Indians are aware of this, but giloy is as easy to consume as it is easy to grow. The creeper has been celebrated in ayurvedic circles as one of the amritas, or roots of immortality.
Giloy is a powerhouse of antioxidants and treats a number of diseases. It's a powerhouse of antioxidants, and treats everything from recurring fever, diabetes, and arthritis, to indigestion, anxiety, and asthma! You can get some giloy powder or juice from an ayurvedic store, or grow some in your garden, or even in a pot in your balcony.

Tulsi:
Now there's a reason why every aangan or courtyard in India used to have at least one tulsi plant, and why we worshipped it. It fights acne for your beauty, and protects against everything from diabetes, cancer, respiratory disorders, and chronic fever.
Tulsi, or Indian basil, can help you fight everything from diabetes to cancer. We don't need to tell you where to get it, because you know it's very easily available. If you don't like it with milk and turmeric, try crushing some and add it to a lemonade.

We have already taken to the many benefits of aloe vera, and many of us also grow the plant at home. It isn't just good for your skin, but its high vitamin and mineral count helps everything from digestion to detoxification.
Aloe Vera isn't just good for your skin, but also helps boost your immunity.Aloe is a natural antibiotic, anti fungal and antibacterial ingredient. So, it basically ticks all the boxes you need for a kick-ass immune system. Go get some aloe vera juice or make an aloe salad today!

Raisins are a great source of vitamins, electrolytes and other minerals. And they're famous for treating cancer, coronary diseases, allergies, and blood pressure. Have a handful of raisins every day, and you'll be fit enough to fight any viral or auto-immune disease.

High in dietary fibres, vitamins and minerals, wheat grass is another one of those ingredients you can grow easily at home. It's exceptionally good for digestion, and assists in the production of red blood cells, potassium and electrolyte, all of these in turn keep your body fit and functioning. You can easily get wheat grass in powder, juice and raw grass forms in the market.

Figs:
If you haven't checked out some anjeer or figs while in the market, you should now. Not only are these fruits just amazing to taste when they're ripe and sweet, but they also have some very high nutritional benefits.

Figs can easily be a part of your meals, and they're really good for your health. They help treat blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, and heart diseases. And you know what? They can even help your lose weight! So add some to your yogurt, or have some fresh-but have them you must.

Papaya Leaf:
We've kept this one for last because it's quite bitter, and not meant for the fain hearted. But this has always been the traditional cure for dengue fever, and there's a good reason why.
Papaya leaves can boost your platelet count, and keep dengue and chikunguniya at bay.

The juice of papaya leaves naturally boost our platelet counts, which means it's tailor-made for dieseases like dengue, malaria, and even chikunguniya. You can have them boiled with a sprinkling of orange pulp, or make a smoothie with cucumbers and figs to take out the bitter taste. But this is something you must have.

But with cases of COVID-19 on the rise in India, and WHO declaring it a pandemic there is no doubt we need to safeguard ourselves against infections. For this, it’s best to wash hands with soap and water regularly and avoid crowds. In addition, here are some home remedies traditional medicine practitioners recommend, to boost your immunity.

What Ayurveda says:
Valsala Varier, chief medical officer at Arya Vaidya Sala Kottakkal, Coimbatore, recommends three immunity-boosting drinks:

Boil a litre of water with 1 tablespoon of dried ginger, 4 teaspoons of coriander seeds and a fistful of fresh tulsi leaves. Strain it and drink

Mix one glass of milk with four glasses of water and add three cloves of garlic in it. Boil it till it is reduced to one glass. Strain it and and drink this instead of tea/coffee.

Add 1 teaspoon each of turmeric powder, asafoetida powder, fenugreek and fennel seeds with a few curry leaves to 500 ml of butter milk and warm it for five minutes. Drink twice or thrice daily.
Metabolism also plays an important role in our immunity, adds Varier. “Space your meals in such a way that the first one is completely digested by the time you have your second. Also make your dinner light, like a bowl of salad.” Another important measure is to get enough sleep and prepare the body for the next day. She suggests oil baths twice a week. “Add 100 gm of fenugreek seeds to a litre of oil and bring it to a boil. Once cooled, apply it all over your body and head. Let it soak into the skin for an hour before you bathe.”

Chaithrika GK, who practises Ayurveda at the Institute of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology, recommends this decotion:

Take 10-15 leaves of tulsi, 4-5 of parijata, 4-5 of neem, 6 of bael, and raw turmeric. Crush and boil the paste in one glass, or 250 ml of water, and reduce the solution to half. Add jaggery and cumin powder. Chaithrika recommends that you drink this after breakfast or lunch, and not on an empty stomach. “Having this decoction once a day for a week is enough. Don’t have it for long periods as it may be a burden on the liver.”

Siddha support:
Some of the easiest immunity boosters for internal use that Siddha suggests are also the quickest to make. For instance, J Jeyavenkatesh of Kokila Siddha Hospital & Research Centre, Madurai recommends that you heat four to five black pepper corns and one large betel leaf in one litre of water, until it boils. Filter it and drink it through the day. Or tweak your regular glass of butter milk by mixing the paste of 10 curry leaves in it.

The four most commonly available ingredients in any of our kitchens  ginger, garlic, turmeric and small onions can be added to bolster immunity. Add these to your chutneys, upma or rice.

Naturopathy talk:
Rukamani Nair, Bapu Nature Cure Hospital and Yogashram, suggests harvesting half a foot of giloy leaves and boiling it in two glasses of water until this reduces to one. Cool and drink a glass daily.

Eat seasonal fruits and vegetables from your region, as these are packed with the nutrients necessary for the weather.

Lemon juice is packed with vitamin C, but instead of overloading it with sugar, which diminishes immunity over a period, add a teaspoon of honey. If you have diabetes, add cinnamon.

Coronavirus Infection Symptoms Cure Treatment Vaccine

Coronavirus Infection Symptoms Cure Treatment Vaccine

What is coronavirus?
According to the WHO, coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as SARS and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS).

These viruses were originally transmitted between animals and people. SARS, for instance, was believed to have been transmitted from civet cats to humans while MERS travelled from a type of camel to humans.

A coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. Most coronaviruses are not dangerous.

Some types of coronaviruses are serious, though. About 858 people have died from Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), which first appeared in 2012 in Saudi Arabia and then in other countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. In April 2014, the first American was hospitalized for MERS in Indiana and another case was reported in Florida. Both had just returned from Saudi Arabia. In May 2015, there was an outbreak of MERS in Korea, which was the largest outbreak outside of the Arabian Peninsula. In 2003, 774 people died from a severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak. As of 2015, there were no further reports of cases of SARS.

But In early 2020, following a December 2019 outbreak in China, the World Health Organization identified a new type, 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

Often a coronavirus causes upper respiratory infection symptoms like a stuffy nose, cough, and sore throat. You can treat them with rest and over-the-counter medication. The coronavirus can also cause middle ear infections in children.

How are coronavirus infections spread?
Human coronaviruses usually spread from an infected person to others through

The air by coughing and sneezing
Close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands
Touching an object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands
Rarely, feces (poop)

3m particulate respirator 8210 n95 mask
Who is at risk for coronavirus infections?
Anyone can get a coronavirus infection, but young children are most likely to get infected. In the United States, infections are more common in the fall and winter.

What are the symptoms of coronavirus infections?
The symptoms depend on the type of coronavirus and how serious the infection is. If you have a mild to moderate upper-respiratory infection such as the common cold, your symptoms may include
  • Runny nose
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Not feeling well overall
Some coronaviruses can cause severe symptoms. The infections may turn into bronchitis and pneumonia, which cause symptoms such as
  • Fever, which may be quite high if you have pneumonia
  • Cough with mucus
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain or tightness when you breathe and cough
  • Severe infections are more common in people with heart or lung diseases, people with weakened immune systems, infants, and older adults.
Immunity Booster Drinks
How are coronavirus infections diagnosed?
To make a diagnosis, your health care provider will
  • Take your medical history, including asking about your symptoms
  • Do a physical exam
  • May do blood tests
  • May do lab tests of sputum, a sample from a throat swab, or other respiratory specimens
  • What are the treatments for coronavirus infections?
  • There are no specific treatments for coronavirus infections. Most people will get better on their own. However, you can relieve your symptoms by
  • Taking over-the-counter medicines for pain, fever, and cough. However, do not give aspirin to children. And do not give cough medicine to children under four.
  • Using a room humidifier or taking a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and cough
  • Getting plenty of rest
  • Drinking fluids
  • If you are worried about your symptoms, contact your health care provider.

Can coronavirus infections be prevented?
  • Right now, there aren't any vaccines to prevent human coronavirus infections. But you may able to reduce your risk of getting or spreading an infection by
  • Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Avoiding touching your face, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces that you frequently touch
  • Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue. Then throw away the tissue and wash your hands.
  • Staying home when sick
Where have cases been reported?
Most cases and deaths have been reported in China - the vast majority in Hubei Province.

So far, the Philippines is the only country that has reported a death from the new virus outside of mainland China.

The virus has spread to many Asian countries, as well as Australia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. Nearly all of the dozens of cases outside China are among people who recently traveled there.

Best n95 mask for Coronavirus
What is being done to stop it from spreading?
Scientists are working on a vaccine but have warned one is unlikely to be available for mass distribution before 2021.

Chinese authorities have effectively sealed off Wuhan, and have placed restrictions on travel to and from several other cities, affecting some 56 million people.

The move was meant to "resolutely contain the momentum of the epidemic spreading" and protect lives, the central city's special command centre against the virus said, according to state broadcaster CCTV.

Many airlines have cancelled flights to China, while some countries have banned Chinese nationals from entering and have evacuated their citizens from Wuhan.

Where did the virus originate?
Chinese health authorities are still trying to determine the origin of the virus, which they say likely came from a seafood market in Wuhan where wildlife was also traded illegally.

The WHO also says an animal source appears most likely to be the primary source of the outbreak.

On February 2, officials in Hubei said the virus had a 96 percent concordance with an already-known bat-borne coronavirus. Chinese scientists previously mentioned snakes as a possible source.

Flu or cold? Here are the little differences:

Even doctors can have difficulty telling the difference between a case of influenza infection and a common cold when confronted with a patient's symptoms. With a cold, most people get a scratchy throat, then a runny nose and eventually develop a cough. Those symptoms, as well as fever and headache, can plague a person for days, making them feel listless.

By comparison, the flu hits you all at once: A flu patient's head and limbs ache, a dry cough begins, one's voice becomes hoarse, painful throat aches occur and a high fever (up to 41°C / 105°F), often accompanied by chills, can knock you out in short order. One just wants to stay in bed, feels exhausted, has no appetite and can sleep for hours on end.

A common cold typically passes within a few days and most symptoms go away after about a week. A flu is more tedious, keeping a person bedridden for at least a week, in some cases requiring several weeks before a person truly feels healthy again.

The RKI's Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO), recommends that all German residents at high risk of serious illness get an annual flu vaccination. That group includes people 60 and over, people who are chronically ill, pregnant women, and residents at senior and nursing homes. Beyond that, STIKO urges those who have a lot of contact with others (i.e., medical workers or those in public businesses or institutions) to protect themselves through vaccination as well.

When should antibiotics be used?

Most colds and flus are caused by viruses, against which antibiotics are useless.

Antibiotics strengthen the body's defenses by killing or hindering the growth of bacteria, but they also attack the cell walls or metabolic processes of micro-organisms. Penicillin, for instance, destroys the cell wall synthesis of bacteria. Porous cell walls make it impossible for pathogens to survive, literally causing them to burst. But this only works on bacteria not viruses.

How Long Will It Take to Develop a Vaccine for Coronavirus?

Several groups are working on a vaccine for the new coronavirus, but there’s no guarantee that it will be ready before the end of the current outbreak.
One group says they may have an experimental vaccine ready for initial testing in just a month.
But experts caution this expedited timeline doesn’t always allow for careful evaluation of the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.

Coronavirus ayurvedic treatment:
In the midst of this, an Indian doctor from Tamil Nadu in Siddha and Ayurvedic medicine has claimed to have found a 'herbal' cure to the virus.

The doctor, Dr Thanikasalam Veni who is currently practicing at Rathna Siddha Hospital in Chennai, and has 25 years of experience in the field of Siddha and Ayurvedic medicines.

In an interview, he says that he has formulated a medicine made from an extract of herbs, which can cure "any type of viral fever."

One of the symptoms of coronavirus is high fever. The doctor also claimed that the medicine could treat the infections caused by the corona virus within 24 hours to 40 hours.

"When we treated the dengue virus with our medicine, many patients with reduced platelets count, acute liver failure, immunity deficiency and low white blood cell (WBC) were cured within 24-40 hours," said Veni. "In coronavirus too I am confident our medicine will be very effective," he added.

The doctor said that he was willing to help the state and central governments, as well as China if the need arose, adding that he is "ready to fly immediately to Wuhan with my medicine which can cure Coronavirus."

As scientists race to find a vaccine for the deadly Wuhan virus, the Indian government said Wednesday that ancient homeopathy and Ayurveda remedies could hold an answer.

India claims to have natural remedies for everything from cancer to the common cold.

The government in recent years has launched a drive to promote traditional remedies as it seeks to cash in on the multi-billion dollar global market for holistic medicine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a yoga practitioner, has said he wants the world to make Ayurveda “a way of life.

Ayurvedic medicine — which means the “science of life” in Sanskrit — treats the physical and mental sources of illness through, for example, prescribing herbs in conjunction with yoga or massage.

The ministry said that homeopathy, the treatment of diseases with alternative medicines prescribed in minute doses, is the main source of health care for some 10 percent of India’s 1.3-billion population.

The Unani system is a mix of traditional medicines from Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Persia, India, China and other Middle East countries, according to the ministry.

Apart from the recommended Ayurvedic, homeopathy and Unani treatments, the ministry also advised Indians who fear they have been infected to “wear a mask and contact your nearest hospital immediately.”

Mantras for Surya Namaskar and Steps Sun Salutation Mantras

Mantras for Surya Namaskar and Steps Sun Salutation Mantras

Surya Namaskar or Salute to the Sun or Sun Salutation, is a practice in yoga as exercise incorporating a sequence of some twelve gracefully linked asanas. The asana sequence was first recorded as yoga in the early 20th century, though similar exercises were in use in India before that, for example among wrestlers. The basic sequence involves moving from a standing position into Downward and Upward Dog poses and then back to the standing position, but many variations are possible. The set of 12 asanas is dedicated to the Hindu God Surya. In some Indian traditions, the positions are each associated with a different mantra.

The sun sustains life on earth. Our ancient seers acknowledged this and revered the Sun. The Surya Namaskar is an appreciation in motion that is offered to the sun. It involves twelve yoga postures or asanas signifying the sun's cycles which run at approximately twelve and a quarter years. If your system is invigorated, then your cycle will be in harmony with the solar cycle. The Surya Namaskar helps create this harmony between your physical cycle and that of the sun.

Chants called Sun Salutation Mantras may accompany the Surya Namaskar. These chants bring harmony in body, breath and the mind. As the practice deepens, so do the benefits. When chanted with sincere gratitude, these mantras can take the practice to an enhanced spiritual level.

‘Om Bhaanve Namaha' means 'One who brings light.' When you recite this mantra, feel a sense of deep gratitude to the sun for giving us light and making life possible on Earth. ‘Om Suryaya Namaha' means ‘Dispeller of darkness.' In essence, it means that we worship the sun for giving us light.

However, this is misleading, as people with excess belly fat are at an increased risk even if they look thin on the outside.Though losing fat from this area can be difficult, there are several things you can do to reduce excess abdominal fat.

Do you want a flat tummy without exercise? Don’t worry if exercising is not your thing. There are a number of factors that cause and affect belly fat. Some simple dietary and lifestyle changes can help you reduce fat around your tummy.

Only by this belly fat and overweight sometimes some persons suffered by more problems.

Legume:
Legume (Beans) a class of vegetables that includes beans, peas and lentils are among the most versatile and nutritious foods available. Legumes are typically low in fat, contain no cholesterol, and are high in folate, potassium, iron and magnesium. They also contain beneficial fats and soluble and insoluble fiber. This Legume (Beans) vegetables contains dark colours seeds like red, black these dark colour seeds contains more percentage of flavonoids. These flavonoids helps to reduce belly fat.Spicy black beans soup helps to reduce belly fat.

Bergamot-Indian apple:
Bergamot-Indian apple,Contains low calories and high fiber. It available in year once only.Take one bergamot apple in the season before lunch. This easily helps to reduce the weight.

Peanuts-For weight loss:
Peanuts are not low-calorie foods; however, eating them may actually be beneficial during weight loss.Peanuts are packed with nutrients, including fiber, protein and heart-healthy fats. Protein and fiber both help increase satiety, which makes it easier to control your overall calorie intake during weight loss.

Including peanuts in your diet can help you lose weight if you’re able to reduce your overall calorie intake or boost your daily caloric expenditure. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggests reducing your intake by 500 to 1,000 calories daily to shed about 1 to 2 pounds weekly. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute suggests many adults require 1,200 to 1,600 calories a day to effectively drop weight.

Peanuts can increase your metabolic rate. When researchers studied resting energy expenditure on peanut and peanut butter eaters, they found that it was 11 percent greater after regular peanut consumption for 19 weeks compared to the baseline.

The fat in peanuts (the "good fat") provides satiety and taste satisfaction, so you don't feel deprived.
Since peanuts stabilize your blood sugar with their low glycemic index (meaning they are digested more slowly and release sugar gradually into the bloodstream), they provide long-lasting energy and decrease cravings.

How to be a Confident Woman

Popcorn for weight loss:
You may be wondering if popcorn is a healthy snack if you're trying to lose weight. On one hand, it's high in fiber and low in calories compared to most snack foods.

The term "whole grain" may bring to mind loaves of bread flecked with bran or a bowl of oatmeal, but popcorn also counts. In fact, popcorn eaters get 250% more whole grains in their diet than people who don't eat popcorn. And like other whole grains, crunchy popcorn is high in fiber.

Not only is popcorn high in fiber, it even delivers some protein. A 1-ounce serving (about 3½ cups) has 4 grams of fiber, almost 4 grams of protein and clocks in at 110 calories. This combination makes it a snack with staying power.

It may be surprising, but popcorn is chock-full of polyphenols, the same compounds found in berries and tea that are linked to heart health and a lowered cancer risk.Popcorn is filled with air (think about how small the kernels are compared to after they're popped). Because it's airy, you get a pretty large portion without a lot of calories. You can eat 3 whole cups of popcorn for only 100 calories. So happily eat this snacks,And say goodbye to white rice, pasta, bread.

Green tea:
Not just flavored water, a green tea diet is full of health benefits. Steeping tea leaves in boiling water causes it to absorb their bioactive compounds. Rich in nutrients, green tea leaves contain anti-inflammatory and detoxifying compounds that help protect your body from the threat of free radicals.

However, the most profound benefit of green tea is the antioxidants (specifically catechins) it contains. EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is the most common catechin in green tea, and it is renowned for boosting the metabolism.

When it comes to enjoying green tea, how you brew it can make all the difference. Be careful not to overheat the water, as boiling will damage the catechins. For best results, bring water to a boil, but let it rest for ten minutes before pouring it over the tea. Then, pour it over the tea and let it brew for a minute before pulling out the leaves and serving them. Depending on your taste, this brew time can be made longer or shorter. Some types of green tea are better for weight loss than others. Matcha tends to be the most nutritious, as you dissolve and drink the tea leaves themselves, rather than just using them to infuse your water.

You can incorporate green tea into your diet at any time you would typically reach for a calorie-filled drink. Green tea makes a great substitute for sugary sodas and sweetened coffee drinks, and it only takes a few weeks for your taste buds to acclimate to the subtle natural sweetness it contains. In this way, you will make a difference for your weight loss routine by consuming fewer calories throughout the day, enjoy higher energy levels, and even boost your metabolism to burn the calories you do eat.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar that makes it great for weight loss.About 100 grams of apple cider vinegar has about 22 calories, which means it makes for a low-calorie drink that can help boost weight loss. Adding a tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar(ACV)into a glassful of water and drinking first thing in the morning may help burn belly fat.

Daily intake of apple cider vinegar might be useful in the prevention of metabolic syndrome by reducing obesity.

Apple cider vinegar leaves you feeling fuller for longer, thereby, preventing you from overeating or cravings. This will help you eat fewer calories and lead to actual kilos lost on the scale.
apple cider vinegar helps stabilise blood sugar levels, especially after eating a meal high in carbohydrates. Stabilised blood sugar levels are important to ensure a healthy and effective weight loss.

How to use apple cider vinegar for weight loss:
  • Never consume apple cider vinegar as it is; instead, dilute the solution in water to ensure you are not consuming large amount of acid.
  • You could use it as a salad dressing with olive oil to promote sustainable weight loss.
  • It is best to spread the consumption in two to three doses through the day and it is best to drink ACV before meals.
  • While occasional usage of apple cider vinegar may be safe, excessive usage may reverse the good effects as ACV is highly acidic. It may irritate your throat if you drink it often or in large amounts.
Some more tips :
  • Avoid junk food as much as possible. Products made with white flour (maida) are a strict no. Increase your fibre intake by consuming whole grain products. Avoiding chips and cookies is the key to reduce belly.
  • Little changes in your diet can go a long way in determining your waistline. For instance, switch whole milk for skimmed milk. Low-fat dairy products are also a great source of protein. Swap your ice cream sodas for lime water and buttermilk.
  • Instead of three heavy meals, take six small meals. Eat to satisfy your hunger, not your tongue. Know when you are full.
  • Keep a gap of two hours between your last meal and sleeping. Foods eaten close to bedtime get stored as fat.
  • If you want to reduce stomach, skipping your breakfast is a bad idea. It has been proved by studies that your body’s metabolism gets a jump-start with a balanced breakfast. When you skip meals, your body’s metabolism slows down which forces the body to break down muscle tissues for energy and conserve fat.
  • You can minimize your water retention by avoiding sodium intake i.e. your salt intake. For flavour, use other herbs and spices.
  • Starting your day with lemon juice is one of the best ways to lose belly fat. Squeeze a lime into a glass of warm water and add a pinch of salt to it. Drinking this beverage regularly every morning will not only eliminate your paunch but also boost your metabolism
  • Replace your white rice with wheat products, brown rice, brown bread, whole grains, oats, and quinoa are very good dietary alternatives.
  • When you want to lose fat from your midsection, you should keep your body hydrated. Drink sufficient amount of water to get rid of your belly fat at home. Drinking water removes toxins from your body, boosts metabolism and reduce stomach fat. Herbal tea is another tasty alternate. you can also drink green tea twice a day.
  • Chewing two or three cloves of garlic every morning with a glass of lemon water doubles up the weight loss process. It also ensures a smooth blood circulation in your body.
  • Include a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Ingest a bowl of fresh fruits daily, every morning and evening to supply your body with various antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.
  • Using lots of spices like cinnamon, ginger and black pepper in your daily meals help improves your insulin resistance and reduces sugar levels in your blood. They are also loaded with various other health benefits.

In religion, there are three parts viz philosophy, mythology, and ritual. Philosophy is the essence
of religion. It sets forth its basic principles or fundamental doctrines or tenets, the goal and the
means of attaining it. Mythology explains and illustrates philosophy by means of legendary lives
of real men or supernatural beings. Ritual gives a still more concrete form to philosophy so that
everyone may understand it. The Puranas contain various myths. Skanda Purana is one of the
most important of the Puranas.

The Skanda Purana richly illustrates the advent of Lord Murugan and His Lilas. It states that at
one time the Devas were strongly oppressed by the Asura Sooran, and his brothers, Tharagan and
Singan. Being unable to bear their ill treatment they prayed to Lord Siva and out of His abundance
of compassion ejected six sparks from his third eye, the inner eye of intuition and threw them in
the Ganges, but as Ganges could not bear the intensity of the heat, threw them into the Saravana
Poykai. This is where Lord Murugan was born, hence He is called Saravanabhavan. The six sparks
took the form of six babies and they were brought up by Karthigai Pengal. Thus, He is called
Karthikeyan. God Mother Umadevi embraced all together and Lord Subramanya took a form with
six heads and 12 hands. He is also called Guhan, Murugan, Shanmugan, and Velayutham. Guha’
means “one who dwells in the cave of the heart” or “In-dweller of the heart.”

Lord Murugan killed Tharagan and Singan at first. They represent Karma Mala, and
Maya Mala. Soorapathman represents Anava Mala (ego). According to Saiva Siddhanta Philosophy, Anava Mala is not completely destroyed but remains dormant when the soul attains bliss. Skanda Purana reveals that when Lord Subramaniya’s Velayutham killed Soorapathman by splitting his body into two parts, one part took the form of a cock and adorned His flag, while the other took the form of a peacock and became His chariot.

Soorapathman was killed by Lord Murugan on the Sashti Day i.e. the Sixth day after the new moon in the month of Ipasi (October—November). That is the day on which He bestowed boon on all His devotees. All the six days including the Sashti day are regarded as auspicious days for worship and all those who fast and pray to Lord Murugan receive special boons from Him. It is said devotees who fast on all six days get the following exils eradicated: Kama (desire), Grotha (anger), Loba (miserliness), Moha (avariciousness), Matha (ego), and Macharium (jealousy).

Lord Murugan is another manifestation of Lord Siva – born as a ray of light from Sivan’s pure consciousness. Valli and Deivayanai are His two wives. They represent the power of will (ichcha-sakthi) and the power of action (kriya-sakthi), respectively. The six heads represent the six rays or
attributes. They also indicate Murugan’s control over the five organs of Knowledge as well as the mind. That His head is turned in all directions signifies He is all-pervading. They indicate that He can
multiply and assume forms at His will.

Kanthar Sashti Kavasam is a famous Tamil hymn in praise of Lord Murugan. It is composed by Sri Devaraya Swamigal and helps one to obtain the grace of the Lord. It is sung particularly on festive occasions, such as during Kanthar Sashti in October-November. When chanted daily with concentration and devotion, the kavasam serves as a protective ‘armour’ for devotees and confer
s great spiritual and material benefits. This rare and valuable treasure helps one to be successful in our daily lives.
